Pioneer Butte Strong Pioneer Marching Band

The Pioneer Day Parade was a delightful event full of commemoration and community. Last week, Ray Morgan Company had the privilege of providing printing for this renowned parade. This annual occasion is a continuation of a long time Chico tradition, which began in 1917. This year, the parade commemorated the 200th birthday of General John Bidwell who founded Chico, CA in 1860. The parade also honored Sheriff Kory Honea, Fire Fighters and First Responders for their recent heroic contributions through the devastation of the Camp Fire in Butte County.

Parade festivities included over 75 creative floats from local schools and businesses, live musical performances surrounding the floats, a Chico Meat Locker barbecue for the whole family and plaza arts and crafts exhibits from local artists. Most floats filled the air with upbeat music and had companions alongside to hand out commemorative gifts or candies to those attending the parade.

Following the parade, the merriment continued with a Sip, Savor, & Support event that supports the rebuild effort of the Gold Nugget Museum of Paradise. Eight local bars donated their famous signature cocktails, and eight local restaurants contributed delectable signature dishes. RMC provided the fundraiser tasting tickets for the attendees to punch as they tasted the delicious spirits and cuisine. One hundred percent of all proceeds went to help fund the rebuilding of the historic Gold Nugget Museum in Paradise, which was recently lost in the Camp Fire.
