CHICO, CA July 5, 2017 – High School and college Students from across the nation, alongside judges from Ray Morgan Company’s marketing team members participated in the SAGE USA National competition on May 26-28 2017 in Henderson, Nevada.

Founded in the summer of 2002 by California State University College of Business Professor, Curtis L. DeBerg as a way to introduce a new form of capitalism to the next generation, SAGE spans eight regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, Russia, South America, and Southeast Asia.

Headquartered in Chico, California SAGE and RMC have shared a strong local partnership since 2011 with RMC being the go-to print provider for the majority of SAGE’s local, national, and international competition printing needs.

Participants in the SAGE: USA National Competition are judged on their team’s ability to exhibit a sound business model following criteria outlined by SAGE as relates to their respective category of business: “For Profit” or “Non-Profit”.

SAGE Judging criteria – “For Profit” businesses:

  1. Innovation – Is the idea unique? What is proprietary about the business?
  2. Profitability – Was the business profitable? Does their plan set in place allow for long-term profitability?
  3. Sustainability – What sustainable practices did the students use for their business?
  4. Succession Plan – Who will take over the business once the students graduate?
  5. Use of Media – Which media types did they use to generate interest: Social Media/TV/Newspapers?

SAGE Judging criteria – “Non-Profit” businesses:

  1. Measurable and Proven Impacts – How did they benefit the community at large?
  2. Community Resources – What resources from the students’ community were used?
  3. Sustainability – What sustainable practices did the students use for their business?
  4. Succession Plan – Who will take over the business once the students graduate?
  5. Use of Media – Which media types did they use to generate interest: Social Media/TV/Newspapers?

Competing teams who meet the criteria set forth by SAGE move onto the SAGE World Cup in Odessa, Ukraine.
